The bankers play ANU and Warriors as the league resumes on the weekend.
Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's semi finalists Equity Dumas are eyeing the playoff final with coach Carey Odhiambo confident the side can challenge for the trophy.
The tactician says tech have uses the general election-occasioned break to put their house in order and work on the team's chemistry ahead of the league resumption.
Dumas managed a semis berth in the last season, falling 3-2 to eventual winners Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) but the tactician believes they have addressed their shortcomings and are ready for the resumption.
"We chose not to take a break during the electioneering period and sort for an alternative training ground since Nyayo was otherwise engaged. Stopping would have been detrimental to us as we had begun making progress.
We have used this time to work on team chemistry and mental strength which has been a problem for the team. I beleive the squad is jna better place," said the tactician.
Dumas face hard-fighting Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Wolfpacks as the league resumes on Saturday 27 before playing former champions Ulinzi Warriors on Sunday.
While ANU are new in the top tier, the Mike Oluoch-led varsity side has proven to be no pushovers, winning six of their eight matches and are likely to push the bankers to the limit.
The bankers' clash with Warriors will be an interesting one as two of their main players suited for the military side before decamping this season.
"James Mwangi and Victor Bosire have provided the much-needed leadership on the court and that has seen a turnaround in the way we are managing matches. We lacked that kind of experience before but with the duo I am more convinced we have a better chance of fighting for the title," the coach said about the former Warriors duo.
The bankers have lost once this season to Nairobi City Thunder and are looking to keep the losses at a minimum as the league takes shape.
